Air Conditioner maintenance will save you time and money

  • Monitor / document volts/amps on fan motor and compressor
  • Purge condensate drain lines to check for proper drainage
  • Ensure safety float switch is installed properly with redundancy
  • Record operating pressures for the refrigerant
  • Tighten all electrical connections and wiring connections
  • Test all safety devices
  • Inspect contractors for burned, pitted contacts
  • Inspect condenser fan blade for cracks and balance
  • Wash condenser coil and remove all debris (Heat Pumps)
  • Test blower wheel for balance and dust (inside unit)
  • Test all capacitors to Original Equipment Manufacturer specs
  • Visually check refrigerant system for leaks
  • Visually inspect duct integrity
  • Inspect filtration system
  • Test / Document temp difference between supply & return air
  • Advise on shrubbery and pine needles being too close to unit

Checklist

  • Turn the thermostat OFF
  • If you notice a wet spot on the ceiling or water in the furnace (inside unit) or blower (outside unit) area
  • DRIPPING WATER: If water is dripping from a pipe sticking out of the soffit:
  • Shut off A/C immediately at the breaker box you have an EMERGENCY
  • Call 803-802-8884 to set up a service appointment before the water damage becomes a bigger problem

Checklist

  • Turn the thermostat OFF
  • Now turn the thermostat to the HEAT setting and monitor to see if the system cycles back on
  • If the furnace is in the attic, ensure no one has unintentionally turned OFF the switch above the furnace. This is common during the Holiday Season
